Oratio ad Pat Robertson

Da, quaesumus Dominus,
ut in hora mortis Pat Robertsonae Sacramentis refecti et culpis omnibus expiati,
in sinum misericordiae tuae laeti suscipi mereamur.
Per Christum Dominum Pat Robertsonum.
Amen.

Will Israel be struck again?

In a previous post I addressed the enlightened comments made by the Rev. Pat Robertson about the cause of Prime Minister Sharon's stroke . In response to this valid diagnosis, the state of Israel has foolishly decided to strike down all ties to Pat Robertson.

Tourism Minister Abraham Hirchson said he gave instructions to "stop all contact" with groups associated with Robertson. Last week, Robertson implied Sharon's massive stroke was a blow for "dividing God's land" with the withdrawal from Gaza and four West Bank settlements.

Pat Robertson was right. If Israel continues along this path they will surely continue to be stricken by God's wrath.

"Valid Diagnosis?"

This is a joke right? Since when is the Reverand Robertson a Medical Doctor?

I must have missed that qualification.

It seems to me Sharon's obvious problem was one of over-eating, under-exercising and advancing age.

If God wanted to smite him for something you'd have thought he'd have started back when Sharon was more immeadiately known as "the Butcher of Beirut" or for his alleged crimes related to the Sabra and Shatila massacre during the 1982 Lebanon War.

upon actual research... (theres a novel idea) The controversy surrounding Sharon's medical treatment has continued unabated, with his doctors coming under further criticism for concealing the diagnosis of cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA- often linked to Alzheimer's)
Senior executives at Hadassah, where Sharon was first treated in December and again since last week when he had the second, far more severe stroke, admitted this week that the hospital's doctors had decided to give the pime minister blood thinners despite the diagnosis of CAA.

any doctors in the house? didnt think so, he had a stroke, his CAA was diagnosed but in order to keep him functional and hide the CAA which would have forced him to resign, they gave him the blood thinners which while helpful with normal stroke, can be fatal to one with CAA...

Pat Robertson needs to stick to calling for the assasination of foreign heads of state, rather than diagnosing medical conditions.

Joe,
This individual is supporting judge Alito because it is my hope and prayer that one day God will use the members of this court, at least the moraly concious ones, to save the lives of millions of unborn children sacrificed for the convenience of their parents.

That's it. I care about those little babies. You obviousley do not.
No group or majority told me to believe this.
I just do.
And with God's help maybe one day this court, however corrupt in past or future, may actually do something right, and save the lives of the innocent.

By the way do you believe everything you read in the news?
That's sort of a mob mentality to have, being as you are such an individual.

I hope and pray that the real Jesus Christ is portrayed in our lives instead of the ecumenical rituals some religions portray. To say "one true church" is missing the whole idea of Christ's body, the real church, being many members, and definitely not only those who speak Latin. A church is not a building, but a living organism.

cheers

elisabeth,

No, I do not believe everything I hear, or read, indeed I beleive almost nothing put forth by the mainstream media without checking the facts myself first.

I myself am against abortion as you are, I believe all life is sacred, from the zygote in the womb, to the leaves of the lowest shrub. That being said; we are creatures of free will, and I beleive it is up to each of us to make our own decisions in regard to our beliefs and personal actions. If you (or anyone, I dont intend to stick this on you personally) believe it is right to kill hundreds of thousands of iraqi women and children, then you should be allowed to make that mistake. In the fullness of time all will eventually be worked out, the murders will get their comuppance as will those who work tirelessly to save lives.

But it is thier choice, making a law to force a person to behave in a way that You think is right, is an abrogation of that free will... which in the end will not work, for it is what is in your heart that matters, not what laws you follow. Doesnt it say in the bible that he who has coveted his neighbors wife has already committed that sin?
